California 2006 - Hills and Curves Next 63 Miles

From one of many amazing 'visitor area' stops along California's famous Route 1 (aka PCH) highway.

I drove my rented car from the San Francisco Bay Area down to the surrounding Los Angeles area. I had left Sunnyvale on Tuesday, September 20 at about 08:00 and reached Malibu just before 19:00 the same day. The last time I was in Cali, I went from Gilroy to Thousand Oaks in about 4.5 hours via I-5... So this is definitely THE "scenic route" to get to your destination!

I followed #1 all the way and at times I thought I had lost it while driving through small towns but I was on track the whole day. In total, I put on just over 1000 miles in 4 days as I returned the car on the 23rd. Posted by Picasa
