Don't call it a comeback

Only one more week until my first ever official vacation from work!

I still don't know how to snowboard but learning how to in Whistler couldn't be a bad idea. Hopefully my snowboardin' cousins from Cali can teach this Canadian a few pointers (!) After last week's snowboarding lesson at Lakeridge, knee pads and some kind of buttpad are on my "don't forget to buy" list... but I'm really looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying the apres, nightlife, and sights.

Last week I also tried indoor rock climbing at Joe Rockhead's. That was both exhilarating and frustrating at the same time! Learning how to tie a figure 8 knot (mnemonic: make a loop in your left hand and pretend you're strangling someone and poke them in the eye) and belaying were fun and easy. You watch other people reach the top easily but actually willing yourself to do the same thing was more challenging than expected.
